Hi! (Newbie with Gti6 Track Car...)
#1
Hi all,

I'm a paid member over on 306Gti6 but keep getting pushed to threads on here so figured I should introduce myself/join up...

I'm based just outside Worcester and own a 1998 GTi6 with a fairly expansive list of tweaks (albeit not as expansive as many on here!) I bought as my toy to keep me smiling on track in a world of diesel powered BMW company cars...It hasnt failed, i bloody love it!

The car may be known to some on here, it has certainly been on both forums many years ago (circa 2007-2010 from what i can tell) and it came with gti6 oc stickers on it, so i'd love someone to fill me in on the gaps one day...

Anyway, I plan to do 4 or 5 track days this year and would love to meet up with any other fellow 306 owners (seem to meet a few each time but non from the forums), the next being the 16th of February at Bedford Autodrome SEN circuit.

So the car:

1998 Bianca White GTi 6 with a very bad respray
159k miles (gulp)
Phase 3 Headlights
'Clio' type front numberplate
Remap - 174.4bhp (back in 08)
Magnex exhaust
RichW rebuilt head
RichW light weight crank pulley
K&N Filter Element
Nissens Rad
AC Button fan mod
Mocal Oil Cooler
BakerBM Grp N Engine Mounts

16' Speedline Turini's - soon to be refurbished in white
Federal 595 RS-R Track tyres (205/45's)
303mm Hi-Spec Brake conversion
Tarox Discs
Ferodo DS2500 Pads
Braided Hoses
ATE Superblue Brake fluid

Bilstein B8 Dampers
Eibach Springs
OMP Strut brace
Rose jointed drop links
RichW Roller bearing wishbone bushes

Fully stripped out bar front carpet
Sparco 'Sprint' bucket seats
Sparco FIA subframes
No radio/speakers etc etc
RMD 'OMP' Style wheel - to be replaced with genuine item this week!

Plans/Aspirations for 2015:

Roll Cage
Harnesses
Clutch & Cable
Accelerator Cable
Carbon door cards
Throttle bodies

Look forward to meeting folk and learning along the way...

Cheers

Chris

Welcome to the forum! Looks great! Any pictures of the back stripped out? Not sure whether to have the front carpet in mine or just strip it all!

This is the only one i have right now, the net thing lasted about 30 seconds...

Stripped out is great, and will look awesome when painted up with a cage, that said its a ball ache in term of resonance on the motorway when driving down to a track day if you have a noisy ish exhaust

For motorway driving, I used to lay foam mat out under any luggage, you could just get some cheap camping mats or similar.
