So I've Finally got round to posting a Project Thread
Used to own this
1.6 16 valve, proper laugh to drive off road, but it was too thirsty so stuck an ebay add up and got a message back asking if i wanted to swap for a d turbo
So doing a straight swap I got this!
It was a proper pig to start so new oil and filters and a set of bosch plugs
Next thing I needed was some new brakes, so off the the ebay again and got some gti 6 calipers
You can see the massive size difference between them!
Discs side by side
wheels with old discs
vs
Wheels with new discs
(Curbage was done by previous owner)
Next thing to do is connect up my boost gauge and have a play with the pump and turbo
not sure whats after that!

Looks alright, wouldn't pay someone to refurb those though, either DIY them or scrap them and get something else

Update:
Driving home from my the inlaws on Monday there's a burst water main.
Drove passed it and BANG!
hit a pot hole and popped the tyre, buckled it too
So got home and went out in the Mrs car to take some pictures and get the council to send me a claim form
Took a measuring tape too to show the depth of the hole
It was completly submerged by water so you couldnt see it!
so now not only is that wheel kurbed like a bitch its now buckled too!
If any one has a set of bigish wheels with tyres I might be interested soon!

I offered up a wheel just to see what it looked like.
they are in really good condition. will probably need a lick of paint though as its peeling at a couple of bits.
the tyres have a aload of life on them aswell!

ooh yes! that sounds nice! maybe a blue.. but i've seen them done well, and seen it done bad!
in my opinion, silver dturbos are hard to make look good unfortunately! but those wheels are a good start!

Do not paint them white, they are a nightmare to clean and end up looking dirty all the time
If it was me I would be doing them as close to brake dust colour as I could get
