Its now many years since I gave up but I did it by having a pint every time I fancied a fag and deciding that I had to finish my pint before I could have a fag. Eventually I was unable to light a fag or even remember that I smoked in the first place.

Spent 2 weeks wasted off my tits and now probably have slight alcohol issues.

A big step is deciding not to buy any more fags. If you ponce the odd one off someone thats OK but if you buy 10 you will smoke 10. Also if you do have one just remember its not the end of the world and you are still quitting.

I quit 4 years ago cold turkey, it's the best way to do it. Have something to quit for..... mine was Scott, as he hated it. But I know people who have booked a holiday, then quit so they could pay it off. Makes you stick to it!

I've been saying im quitting for the last 2 yrs, but what I have done is cut down loads mid week. I'm having one or two in the evening and ''forgetting them at home'' everyday when I go to work lol.
But I think after Christmas me and the mrs may do it together.
