Hi Guys,
Ill be getting some baker BM solid top mounts for my avo gtz coilovers. Another thing I have been recommended to get is some adjustable drop links.
Can someone please explain why I should get these. What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Can someone recommend where to get some and how much they should cost.

As far as im aware when you lower a car the ARB gets pulled up which means it doesnt work as well? So in order to make it work properly again you have to have adjustable droplinks to return the ARB to the horizontal? Forgive me if im wrong...

i made some using parts from mcgill motorsport on ebay, if i can remember it all cost me around £60 i used m10 rosejoints left hand and right hand thread for easy adjustment. A turnbuckle which i just measured a stock droplink then its just the missalignment spacers and bolts etc.
The 205 droplinks are slightly different due to the arb shape, but heres how mine turned out i would high recommend some rubber boots for the joints.

You don't necessarily need adjustable, I've just fitted Ford Puma ones on the BMW, as they are 40mm shorter than OEM ones & my ARB sits too low if not.

Yes, that's what I just said?
So lay a standard strut side by side with your coilover, if there is a difference in where the droplink mounting tab is positioned, take that length off of the OEM droplink & find some droplinks that length, if the mounting tab is in the same place on the OEM strut and the coilover, you don't need shorter droplinks..

As you have said Sam, the idea is the ARB should be horizontal on level ground. Considering you use coil overs and have the ability to change your ride height, i would get adjustable rather than just a set shorter one.
Chances are you will have to make some up your self as i don't think any of the normal people make them any more. I know mine are Ripp ones and very good quality. I paid £60 for them second hand

Cheers. Those are what I saw on ebay too. Look very beefy! I had a look under the car yesterday and the ARB was too low. It was sitting below the wishbones by a good few mm.

I haven't done any for a while, but I do have enough to make a few sets up. I stopped doing them really after having at least 3 people order a set, getting materials, then having them argue over the price afterwards because some bloke on ebay is doing them for 80 quid, even though they're not the same spec.. 
So these days I'm not making any unless I've got a batch to do and deposits taken.
Custom roll cages/shiny suspension bits/general fabrication work undertaken, PM me.
Top engine mount repair/reinforcement/chocking for cracked chassis and high powered cars, drive in, drive out, 2 hour turnaround.
