i need a new sump for my 1.8 16v...will a gti one fit?
finding one for mine is like looking for rocking horse shit...whereas gti ones seem to be everywhere

I cant be 100% sure but i dont think a gti 1 will fit as its acts as part of the gearbox cover on the gti6.
I think i may have a sump off a 1.8 still. I will check if your interested?

Any sump will fit, Even the old 205 GTi box's fit, just 2 bolt holes are not used which is extra on the RS engine anyway, the A/C pipes might be different is the only thing,

The GTI sump is completely different but MAY fit. Will mean removing the shield from the bottom of the box on the 1.8 if it does fit.

The GTi sump will certainly bolt up and will use the same bolts, but the PAS pipe under the car will probably need a bit of tweaking as the brackets won't fit.
I do have a mint 1.8 16v alloy sump in the garage though if you need one?

If you've got a sump from a 1.8 16v with the air con pump brackets ill buy that. Just need to get it fixed so I can sell the car. How much you looking for sump?

It's an alloy sump from an AC equipped 1.8 16v.
Let me dig it out tonight to double check it and I'll be in touch.

seen a few but not the 1.8 ones, and dont want to buy one that might not fit
