if i need to change the ECu on my car as suspect it may be blow, what else needs to be changed ? does it need a key reader, and the part behind the ecu ?

You need to be sure of the problem before changing expensive parts like ECU's really.

But you need the ECU, the immobiliser chip in the key and the immobiliser box as a matched set. Don't need the key reader as its just a reader, not coded.
