I asked a mate of mine if he could weld in my shock mount to this shell, and he said yeah, he didn't know that I changed shells, so hopefully in a few weeks time I can have the mounts in and push for having the front dampers on, so that's going to be one more part towards the puzzle.
got to get the paint for this car, as I have the red paint from my old shell, ( I will have to dig that out and pass that out to my mate)

At the min, I am using this car as a daily, due to my 306 been off the road. so after a full week, its proving to be a lot more stronger, and more stable car, than my red one was. already had a few people try it on, tonight coming back from my course, a kid thought he was cool, with his clio, Got hooked on the 1.1s bate, sat off the bumper of my car at the lights, l pulled a way a little, to give the impression it wasn't quick, so he caught up and tried to push me a long, but the lads face be came a picture as I just pulled away! he backed right off and was a dot in my mirror!
my lecture saw the car, and asked how long I had the car etc, I said its a little special, he thought I may have been joking, until I showed him the car. He was pissing him self laughing! He had the rest of the lectures look it over and they were ill with laughter! They love it! the car might help me pass my course lol

Absolutely mad car. Can only begin to imagine the fun you're having.

Watching with interest as always.

I decided to fit the console in properly, this time its fitted in using the original metro cassette holder bracket, ( I should have done it with the red one) also I am replacing the 2 gauges as I am not really happy with the tims ones and the sensors are plain naff!
so I have bought 3 as I am fitting in a oil pressure unit this time. so hopefully we will get there this time.

yesterday, I got my mate to cut the holes in for the glove box lamp and switch, as I installed this feature on my old metro, so I thought I might as well add this to the car,

this one is ok, tbh the none sunroof metros are stronger, A lot of things are been done better on this car, as I have seen where I went wrong with the gta, plus I have getting the 1st car love again with this one, with the shite I had with the red one, it took the enjoyment away from it sadly. plus in my mind I had the vision of it going bang again, well with this one, everything is tried and tested, so I don't have that problem now.

after nearly 2 weeks I managed to have a bit a of time, as I got hold of some parts a few weeks ago, never had the time to fit them sadly.
so this afternoon after I came back from my forklift course and after it pissed down with rain.
I dug out my part that I sorced from the metro owners club, some of the early metros had this piece, bud they didn't bother to add it to most of the rover metro and R100 series. I have been after this bit for my gta, but never got around to it, but this time I have!

it goes around the seat belt stalks.
so my mum gave it a lick of paint

here is the area it goes
[Image: 2014-08-14161905_zps6a3b9c76.jpg]

and in place

also I am working on another feature, that bugged me with the old one, The 306 has the feature and that's the interior lamp delay, but I wasn't going to pay 70 quid for a relay that did the little trick, also finding that relay now is very hard to come by, as it is on montegos and maestros and when was the last time you saw those? so after a little bit of research from the lotus elise area, they have the feature I wanted, They have a tricky resistor thing that plugs into the door switch and earth.

so I just need to run an earth to that and see if it works.

Nice little touches. All of them together really make a nice difference and you notice them when you're out driving it and it is very satisfying when you know you added those little improvements yourself.

done a bit more today, while I had some free time, plus the weather was ok,
today I wired in my little interior lamp delay tricky resister thing.

so unscrewed the door switch,
connected the red wire to the power and then plugged the switch back in and screwed it back up, ( nothing really interesting there)

found an old earth lead from one of my knackered spots,
so made an earth extension,
[Image: 2014-08-16171305_zpsc5924042.jpg]

earthed in on the fuse box holder,

so tested it, and here is the results, door open and the light is on.

light still on and it starting to dim,
[Image: 2014-08-16172250_zpsccff4c8e.jpg]

the red metro had two bonnet buffers, which I did remove from it.

which go in the corners,
[Image: 2014-08-16172653_zps94ca9c1e.jpg]

double sided in place,
[Image: 2014-08-16173226_zps0ffdc416.jpg]

so now this car has a nice little mod that I planned for the gta, so a nice little feature now, a light delay! So I have saved my self 60 quid! as the part was a £10.

well I am dead in the water, On route to my fork lift course for training, and the little egg beaters fuel pump dies on me.
So I may have took the life out of the clutch and starter, due to people not giving me a push off the road! I had to bail into a bus stop! Not one of the seaham lady gardens gave a helping hand to help me, off the road!
But that's the seaham lot for you!
Going to be fun getting hold of a fuel pump, so watch this space!

yeah its a tank out job sadly, and also I believe yours is too, also beware that these do go on yours as well.
i am going to take this chance to upgrade it like, as its rude not to take the chance and plus i can spend a little bit of time painting under there too.
( as i had to put this car back together quickly due to space sadly)

why is, every ****ing uprated or grade I buy for this car, it always turns into a major **** up! Today me and my dad decided to make a start on sorting out the front for the mot, I had poly bushes to go on the bottom arms while we had those off. As I have to change the bottom ball joints, Anyway my dad removes the old ones from the driverside. Guess what! the seller gave me four bushes that were the same!! They gave me four front ones! the rears are different. More ****ing money to fork out now, My dad tried to get the old bushes back in so that we could get the car back on its four wheels, but we had a right drama, as the we had to slot in a screw driver to keep the bottom arm in place, as we ran out of light and patients. we moved the car and the front wheel decided to do a Euro, and give the ultra neg camber! so we had a **** on again getting the screw driver back in place, so we could move the car back again.
So its now sitting very sorry for itself! Sad
I want to kill someone! I really do! so I am having a beer to calm down!
but on the plus side of things, I did get the driver side front hub swopped over.

i may have sorted a second hand Spi pump so i can build another pump before i dismantle the car and remove the old unit. Just have to wait and see on this.

well I am nearly one step closer of getting this car back together now,
here is were we left off after the trouble we had. sadly its been like that for nearly a two weeks!

front wheel hub removed, ready for the other side, as we had plans of getting the both done.

anyway, the driver side.

wheel off and hub ready for removal, as this hub is buckled, nut sure what the f*ck has happened there. ( these were off the donor mgf )

the strip down,

the hubs side by side
[Image: 2014-08-24170354_zps7ba2bfe5.jpg]

replacement one on the car,

I didn't take a photo of the hub build back up as we then ran into trouble with the bushes for the bottom arm, so I had to put the car back together quickly.

anyway since the 306 is back up and running again, I have decided to go to town now,
got me self a replacement SPi fuel pump, ( I will be building a pump up so keep watching)

also I have a my sender unit on mine is a bit iffy, but a second hand one popped up from the same seller, so I asked if he could do a bit discount, he said the two for 50 quid posted.

I need a tool to remove that so that's going to be the next step once the front is sorted,

best part is Poly bushes!!! I have the full smash for the front end,

these are the bottom arms, and droplink and anti role bar.
I may think about changing the rear droplinks back over to mgf ones, and poly bush those, but I am thinking I may change the rear kit over to stainless. as I think the kit that's on it is knackered.
i am glad now that things are starting to be on the up for me, and i am closer now of getting my little egg beater back up and running, ( that's what i call it)
I did call it the blue flame, but since getting to know how this one is, and with it been a "1.1s" the name egg beater has stuck. great name for a piss take eh! Proctas egg beater.

my dad made a start when I was at work, so the car is closer to been put back its four wheels.

that's got new bottom ball joints, track rod end and polybushs,

well me and my dad did finish off the mot failures that were on the red one, ( I used the gta subframe if you remember)
so the full smash is now polybushed now. just need to look at the rear droplinks and we are a way.

here is the front droplinks been sorted out with the new bushes,
[Image: 2014-09-07114027_zps86ed2ca5.jpg]

the old bush on the anti roll bar,
[Image: 2014-09-07114040_zpse68a65bc.jpg]

new bushs and anti role bar on!

then we moved over to the other side,
full works stripped down for the second hub replacement, and bottom arm removal
[Image: 2014-09-07140640_zps8d3c89ce.jpg]

other droplink sorted
[Image: 2014-09-07140655_zpsc132430e.jpg]

replacement hub built back up.
bottom arm ready to go back on, after replacement bottom ball joint and bushes.

anti role bar and droplink back on with replacement bushes, along with new track rod end.

car back on its four wheels,

now its a case of building up a fuel pump to get it running again and the coolant swopped over to waterless.

guess what happened today, I found out why the car died! It wasn't fuel pump related at all,
it was the Inertia switch, that must have tripped and got jammed, when I went over the speed bump, for the engine to just cut out! I found this out by mistake, as I was tidying up a wire in the engine bay and saw it hanging down, I normally check it now and again. Sure enough it sounded a as though something had was ratting inside, so I pressed it and went back to normal. ( with me and my dad working on the car we must have unjammed it with the car been jacked up and let down)
so I decided to see if it would fire up, surely enough, imbo off and then the pre ignition and I heard the fuel pump prime as it would normally, and it fired into life as though f*ck all had happened! This is after I have ordered the wrong fuel pump and bought a second hand unit to build a uprated unit!
So I have bought a replacement switch as I think this one is acting up.
all this for a fuckin £8 quid switch!
heres the little bastard!

I am still going to build a upgraded fuel pump for this and replace the sender unit with a better second hand one, so we are not far from over yet, Also talking to a metro cup racer about the rear setup again, as I want to try and get this car handling great!
I may have to over haul the front brakes as I think one of the front brakes isn't playing ball every well, So that's going on the must list I think, after the mot.
I may look at the front anti roll ball droplinks as I have been tipped off about what to do with those.

I am 80% closer than I was at the beginning of the year, as this shell piggy is proper hard as nails! worlds a part from the old one!
The wheel trims are Gta 16v ones, You can take the wheels off with out removing them. I have some new ones to go on, and I am looking at getting some new wheel nuts, not sure if I want to go black with this car. As I can get black ones over the chrome ones.
