aux drive belt
#1
after lots of worry and checking, I bought a new aux drive belt ( Unipart £12 inc tax ) and fitted, the first thing it did of course was to squeeeeeek.......but now some 300 miles later its very quiet, the horrible noise has gone and the engine sounds sweet.....the new belt does "flap about" on the lower run from the PAS pump to the crank pulley and calms down by 15oo rpm.......the old belt has a "memory" and looks just like the route it takes around the pullies some weeks later.........which must have contributed a lot to the flapping about and the horrible noise.

the crank pulley seems ok......will post a pic next week.

brilliant forum as ever.......

ps the heated rear window live feed comes along the rhs gaiter, the feed wire was broken which is why the heater didn't work ( the mirrors did heat up ) and the speaker wires where also make and break contact which was sorted. radio sounds great now!

just the airbag problem, remote locking problem, tyres and rear brakes for mot in niovember to go!Blush
