Thats good that, im 5 days older than you with licence held for a year past January with no ncb and the insurance on my HDI is only £750!
Im either getting a GTI6 or Clio 172 next year, just out of interest how much did you pay for your 6 if you dont mind me asking?

yeah, well i passed my test the following december after turning 17, but was off the road for a while, so wasnt able to build up more than a 1 yr ncb.
i payed 600 for it. its got 82k on the clock and is pretty tidy. gonna wack new throttle and clutch cable on as they are a bit stiff.. nd sort the exhaust out because its blowing slightly. and get a new cambelt on it, just to be on the safe side. i know that gti6's are prone to early cambelt failure

looks like a good deal mate, insurance sounds cheap to, my 1st 6 (when i was 18) was £1500 with 1ncb & just me on it but that was 5/6 years ago when insurance was cheaper too , so you'v done well, but now its £470 a year for a supercharged 6 with shed loads of mods, the joys of getting old :/

yee the joys of being a young motorist ay Wink
she's not quite on the road yet though, ive only got 2 months left until my insurance runs out on my little citreon ax. so i thought i would wait until thats up as i would be paying 600 quid to swap insurance over for 2 months worth of driving, so its not really worth it. its killing me not being able to drive it though. its just sitting on the drive looking at me Wink
