I got £40 for a spares or repair pump on ebay. You can safely just snip the sensor cable on the injector but it might be worth looking at flogging it complete. Injectors with the NLS fetch a premium over the standard ones, it isn't unknown for them to fail.
The ECU can alter the injection timing between 0 and plus 20 degrees, interestingly with PP2000 you can see the timing requested by the ECU, and the actual timing applied by the pump, along with various other parameters:
