Had a good nose round when we were getting the truck started haha.

Pretty decent example of a 309, couple of small scrapes in places to expected of a 23 year old pug but really nice and rot free.

Can't wait to see it sorted with some decent power :-)

Looked like quite a good buy judging from the other thread - certainly I'll be interested to see this progress as I've quite a soft spot for 309's having owned a few GTi's and a Goodwood over the years.

Did you poke around the rear of the inner sill and around the fuel tank? That's where 309's typically rot and I've yet to see one that's not been atleast starting to go there sadly. They certainly seem to fair worse than a 205 of the same age and lots where scrapped because of that, although of course they're still very good compared to a typical Ford, Vauxhall etc of the same vintage!

The area where the beam mounts into the boot floor looked abit crusty but not rotten like my 106, the 309 has both an engine Undertray and a tray under the beam which I've never seen before

Also suffered from the crusty inner wing along the weld like a 205 but shouldn't take Danny long to repair :-)

Inner wing/chassis leg behind the drivers headlight has a hole but seller mentioned this

Going to get it all undersealed and check for rot just sorting other bits and bobs out
