Not really been on here much but al get a thread up anyway. Started my project thread on the gti6 forum so a lot has been done since buying the car but a quick run through should give you lot an idea of whats been going on. I will let the pics do the talking for now.

I bought myself a GTi6 on new years eve with the Plan to build another track toy again and keep the estate as a run around and work car but after driving the 6 back from Edinburgh i soon changed my mind about stripping it out like my last one and keeping a full interior! Anyway here is when i got it. 1.2s straight on Big Grin

Got it home New years day and cracked on. Gaz coilovers went on with some adjustable top mounts. Also fitted some new track rod ends and drop links while I was on. Turn in and handling Feels a hell off a lot better now, noticed a good difference. Still need tracking checked tho.

Then had a little fun with this on my way home B)

Little bored after work so I have changed my clocks a bit. Fitted a phase 3 surround and a little carbon too

Fitted my inlet on my old engine to see how it would fit and see what clearance would be like. PAS relocation kit is needed what I already knew about and dont think its going to fit with the standard rad. Good job I have a 60mm r5 turbo alloy rad. Didnt realise how big it actually is before I fitted it onto the engine.

FINALLY!!!

Weekend just gone i got round to changing my martix . Wasnt as bad as I was expecting to be honest. Took around 2 and a half hours start to finish then an extra hour on top of that to get that stupid break light switch back in what had fell out when we pulled the dash out!!! Also removed the heavy sound proofing from behind the dash as well while the dash was out.
By the look of it the O rings failed on the old matrix

I will probabley do combe if I come to fcs but got other things to put my money towards at the minute.

Hight isnt really an issue to be honest its not as harsh as some cars I have had. To be honest I think I could do with stiffer springs if anything.

News on what engine build? Or do you mean on getting my inlet on? Just bought some silicone water pipes so I can get on with fitting R5 alloy rad at some point and a top glove box to get rid of the big hole in my dash where the air bag use to be :lol

Well all that chopping was a total wast of time :lmao PAS relocation kit arrived today. Totally different setup to what i was expecting. Looks like I could have 2 options on what pump to run? Standard gti6 pump with smaller pulley and auto tensioner or the bigger MI16 (I think) Pulley with manual tensioner.

PAS relocation kit went on today. Also been messing with my inlet to see if I can run 2 short and 2 long trumpets but unless I drill the backing plate what I dont really want to do so am going to run short trumpets. Hopefully be picking up an omex tomorrow.

Eddy good to see you over here from the 6 forum. Car looks great!

I can help you with a map for the Omex for a small donation to the forum Smile
Edit: Also, if you wanted a base map just to start it, Omex will happily send you one for free if you speak to Guy but most of the time, the car will barely idle on them let alone drive.
Also, you want Corsa B 16V leads for that coil.

Only issue with the leads is the seals don't sit in the holes in the head properly but other than that, they fit fine. On mine, i can slide the covers about so i may take half inch off the bottom of them and slide them down then they will seal.

Ive got a Omex map for a standard GTi engine. If I'm honest, its a pretty poor map but will do the job until you get it properly mapped.

Still waiting on a reply from him as he said the cam was sent out last tuesday and still nothing has arrived yet!

Omex wont be going on till im about ready to fit my inlet and get mapped. No major rush juat yet.
