I just had my MOT (by a friend) he "advised" me I "might" need a new back box.
So what options are there for cheap ideas and what would be the easiest fix?

Exactly as above really, ive got a straight through now, and it sounds epic! I get waaaaay to excited over the sound of the turbo through the pipe, bloody lush! Might end up putting a midbox section in again though, just to tone down the raw noise, don't wanna lose the whistle from the turbo though.

Yeah, i did mine on my mums drive, but just make sure you leave yourself enough time in the day to account for any issues you may encounter, i ended up working by torchlight after i couldnt get one of the hangers to quite reach, thus meaning i had to "adapt" my bumper some more.

As above soak the nuts in penetrant spray repeatedly, preferably over a few days before you want to do it.
If the exhaust has never been removed from the car they can be very seized on.
Edit:
If it is a diesel then do what the others said.

Take the exhaust off. Just make sure your cabin is air tight!
