Now owning the '6 the brakes are SHOT to pieces.
I remember reading a little while back about some difference between the calipers.
I just need some brakes on the car - found these; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pagid-Front-Br...35cd20354b
they seem legit or would i HAVE to check the calipers prior to replacement?

Which is something you can easily get away with. Don't forget, thats only 1mm in the calliper so hardly a big difference.

Yeah true, if they actually are that size. It seems that the ad is pretty poorly done imo. They've even written 'breaks' which a big company should be able to spell. And getting the title wrong too... I wouldn't be surprised if they turn up completely wrong but I guess we'll see.

Or bosch!
There are a number of companies advertising on ebay listing as front discs for gti6, but in details it shows as 266mm...very annoying and naughty

EARLY XSis had 266 Bosch calipers, but they're rare... 99.999% are Lucas...
I think the Bosch 283/285s are off a 406 and have the wrong offset.
