Which amp for these subs
#1
[attachment=12179]

I have purchased x2 MTX thunder 4500 subs (as shown in pic)

according to the mtx website each sub is 225 watts which means in total it is 450 watts.

firstly does this seem very little considering it is a 12" sub and secondly what sort of amp do you guys recommend powering of?

Cheers

RMS Power (Watts): 225

just to clear the air a bit here rms watts, is totally different to the watts of the actual sub?

You need to know the impedence of the subs. Whether they run at 1,2,4, etc ohm
Then take into consideration you are likely going to be running two subs off the same amp. You need to ensure the amp is delivering the same 1,2,4 etc ohm or you will have problems. Chances are you will eventually fry the amp.
If you use a monoblock amp it gets more fun wiring wise. Check out the jl audio wiring guides on their website it helps ALOT!

dont just buy an amp because the tms figure looks right, you wont be getting the most out of the subs and eventually will lead to problems
