Hi all
My name is tom and I am currently looking into buying a 1997 peugeot 306 1.9Lt SRDT saloon. My main concern is whether the car is part of the batch of peugeot 306's which I keep reading about that have experienced the conrod failure.
The VIN and engine numbers are listed below
engine #: CUB14000120
Vin #: VF37BDHY231319634
I have read that engine numbers with 'DHY' in them are part of the faulty batch. I see that the Vin # includes 'DHY' but not the engine #, does this mean I'm safe?
The car has just over 100k on the clock and has been well looked after (I'm told). I hope to take it for a drive over the weekend.
Any help or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tom
