Having issues with the car
Won't rev past 3.5-4k gov is shimmed solid so is not that, it drives like it's not goved
White smokes the street out when cold and hunts like its on veg
Fuel filters clean and so is the strainer
Only ran on shell diesel
Warm or cold it smokes white and diesel knocks Dosent smoke as much when warm only when revving the engine, fires straight up when cold but smokes so it's not glowies
Tried advancing and retarding pump makes no if little differance
Anyone have any ideas?

Mines been doing this since I bought it and more recently strange noises are coming from the pump/belt so it would well be timing. I need to get mine checked when the Bosch goes on.

When mine wouldn't rev at all it was the gov that went into pieces in the pump. Think Jenk still has the remainder of the pump full with springs and washers lol

Don't think it's that pal took the gov out other day,
It revs round to 5k now at idle but pops like a petrol backfire and when you let off the revs if won't idle just cuts out then runs like shit on start up

Sorry I meant mine smokes white and hunts even on diesel like yours but it doesn't stop it reving - not that I can see what its reving to as I have no tacho.

Sorted it, stripped the threads on the studs the pump goes on so wasn't nipping up properly and pump was moving about
Replaced the studs and it's ok now
