Thanks for all the advice guys Smile

Well, in my first reply I did say it'll be the poor fuel quality Tongue

At least you know the fix for that. i.e ulsd and a bit of 2 stroke.

It'll probably be unbearable below 0, mine was anyway. flattened the battery one morning, luckily I keep a spare on trickle charge in the shed.

I no you keep going on about poor quality Fuel but 65p a liter sod paying pump prices for it to start that 20seconds quicker lol I may look in to a twin tank set up so I can run derv on start up and switch to Veg Oil once engine has warmed up. But undecied on that idea yet

All you need is a 10 litre tank for starting on normal derv, oh and stopping Tongue you'd need to switch to white a few minutes before you switch off, obviously Smile

That's my first plan when it gets colder, but guy I buy the Veg Oil off thinks I will have to have it 50/50 when it's colder, hope I don't have to lol hate buying derv at 136p when I no I can run it for 65p a liter lol

No idea, just a tank swithching valve.

I've seen them used in aircraft, for switching between left and right wing fuel tanks. Smile

So this morning wouldnt start what so ever ended up killing the battery, starting to think its either the pump or the oil isnt right, got derv in it now for time being so see if it starts ok in morning, but gonna try some oil from booker and see what its like then.

what do you guys think?

First try derv.
If it starts fine then you can say for quite sure its the oil.

I would be interested to ask what type of oil it is you been using, soya, sunflower...etc

Veg can also be worse with any small air ingress issues...dont know why, just is. Buts thats bad if it wouldnt go at all. Did you try hand pumping the fuel?

Yer the hand pump went solid very quickly, that's what's makeing me think it's not air that's an issue?

I'm not sure on what oil it is Will have to try and find out, it was abit colder last night so guessing that's what has caused the issue this morning.

I got a tow tho and it bumped first time had to keep my foot on revs to to keep it going. After 30 seconds of reving it, it held its self then Undecided

Need to get my self a multimeter so I can test them. Will see how it goes tomorrow morning from cold now it's got derv it (it's mixed like 25liters Veg 13liters derv)

When you say it's the Veg do you think it's the filtered veg oil causing it or if I have new oil it will be same?

Run straight derv, you'll have to wait a while before the white gets drawn through to the pump though. So you'll need to wait at least a day after putting white in to see Smile

I do 100miles a night I'm sure it's mixed up after them 100miles stop start around town up and over bumps several times etc.

But the true Test will be in the morning

I don't wanna run straight derv as I want to save money

5% petrol with a splash of two stroke is fine

(in fact I think in the ph1 pug manual it says about putting a bit of petrol in during very cold winters!)

So first start this morning, started first turn of the no hesitation what so ever. So think I'm gonna start mixing it but will try with petrol.

How much petrol should I put in to 40 liters of Veg?

On your engine, who knows Tongue it should run, if that's what you mean.

that mix seems fine...if a little too much petrol.

I use a litre of petrol for ever 20 of veg...but will go up to 2 litres soon for cold mornings.

5litres of petrol for 30litres of veg seems too much to me Undecided

I was thinking this that it was to much like 3 liters to 30liters is right??

5 liters is a bit to much no harm though, I'm always 3litres with 30. I'm mix it into the veg cans and shake em up then pour it in as one. Helps keen the veg tubs clean and you can see the thickness as you pour it.
