I've finally sorted my problem out with this under boosting issue but now I have it boosting at 26 psi when in 4th with my foot down is that too much so should I turn it down a little ?? If feels like it's got not to give but it's missing something and I don't no what it is ??

If you have boost, and no poke, you need more smoke.
That worked for me on the 405 I had anyway
What's it like in other gears?

I think they meant, does the car start accelerating again. lol
As in, you're revving it too hard. In diesel, revs are bad. Boost, torque and low revs are good

Revving a diesel hard isn't that bad!

True, but it's not that efficient? Saying that, my NAD got to 5000rpm on the rollers and the HP still hadn't peaked. Got to 61hp.

if its burning fuel cleanly and continuing to make power....then its efficient

We're talking about XUDs here I meant generally.

If you don't need all the boost to burn all the fuel you're supplying, then more boost than required places more strain on the turbo and intercooling system... Also the pumping losses of the engine having to compress even more air in the cylinders is kinda pointless... Turn it down to the sweet spot of no smoke, but not higher than it need be.

thats a pretty general rule to be honest.
people would say an evo8 that produces 400bhp is really inefficient...
well 25mpg isnt great...but its efficient when you consider the amount of power it produces for the fuel it uses

It's not 25mpg when it's producing 400hp though, so it is inefficient?
An Aston Martin can do 25mpg and produce the same power. (6.0 V12)
Not a valid argument, but the Aston would probably be more efficient at high rpms than an evo producing the same power. I go off topic no more.

exactly. so aston have to use 3 times as many cylinders and 3 times as much capacity to get the same power.
an evo isnt a great example to be honest...more modern turbo petrols and diesels would be better to demonstrate but its still valid

Trust me, NA power delivery is so much better, 12 cylinders sounds better too, less stress on engine parts as well so longer life
Every car should be a V12.

You might get a DB7 for that if you know where to look Or a Jaguar XJ-S with IDF Weber (same car but SOHC)
Anyways, I'll post no more. I'm trying to stay away from spamming.

Now you have said that how is a td04 @25psi with a welded wastegate and 9mm bosch?
