If you know the ball joint is dodgy and you've just replaced the shafts then I'd do the ball joint (its probably cheaper than new shafts too)

its a brand new ball joint with a new pinch bolt chris. it knocks ever so slightly but im scared to cranck the pinch any more in fear of snapping it :/ shitty patten parts

I've got a very similar problem.
Had the wheels re-balanced and it has sorted the problem. I also have one slightly buckled wheel, which doesn't help. But, I now get shakes when pulling off fast in 1st and 2nd.... The search continues.

depends if the gear box decides it would like to select 2nd gear or not. as that could be a bit of a set back in the grand scheme of things

yeah i like the sleeperish look of them. more attractive than big yellow ones with red writting under a big set of 17 motor sport wheels IMO
do you find you have more pedal travel now nial? & what was cousing the issue with 2nd?

Dont know about the 2nd gear issue. Never got round to fixing it. Think its having a new box put on it soon. Occasionally, i would put it into 2nd and the stick would come straight back to the hand brake. Out and back in again and its fine. Mind you, i hardly drove that car sympathetically! :p
