remove exhaust back box and drop mid pipe.
remove spare wheel and hanger. jack and support rear remove wheels remove handbrake cables from underside/inside of car undo brake pipes undo clip abs x2 if it has it 6 bolts in boot and it will drop to floor. good idea to have jacks and mates holding it! reverse to refit. remember to bleed brakes! Wishes for more power...
As above...but remember to disconnect the brakes first lol. And wiring for ABS is applicable.
Edit - I'm too slow as usual!

I assume they can as it looks like one continuous cable from the caliper to the adjuster at the handbrake.

I'm just wondering actually if it would be worth cracking the bolts loose but leaving the wheels on, that way when you undo it, the discs/drums won't hit the floor? as others can testify...unless you have the car about 2feet in the air, if you leave the wheels on, you cant get the beam out from under the car!

I seem to remember GTIKYLE removing a beam with the wheels still on...in the most pikey way possible balancing it on bricks!

easiest way is to support the trailing arms with axle stands and drop a trolley jack down slowly in the middle of the beam..
did it this morning and vice versa for refitting it only took about 20 minutes
