Add some have seen im painting done things in my engine bay. But it's rather dirty atm.
I was going to get some auto glym engine cleaner. What would be best to take it off with jet wash or hose pipe? Also what it do damage to my engine all the water?

TFR cleans everything ever, just dont leave it on too long or use it too strong or itll eat the paint away. Amazing at cleaning but potentially nasty shit.

Better covering your alternator and bits like that.

A strong degreaser would do the job aswell, spray it on and let it soak then agitate it with a brush and rinse of.

What could I cover it with? Would I be better to take battery out while cleaning?

Cover it with a plastic bag, you dont really need to take it out no, one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000TAWBBC would be as good as anything imo.
