A little demo of my headunit, not fitted properly, just testing it actually works... I love gadgets..

And number plate surrounds, well only one, looked odd on the front so I left that one off for now.

After a day at Silverstone, I thought I would make the most of the decent weather we have at the moment, so cracked on and got my cambelt done. Hated getting the covers off, but the cambelt was nice and easy tbh.

The old belt and tensioners looked quite new, but were cheap motor factor parts so it's best they are changed for peace of mind.

Fitted, I know the belt isn't lined up in this picture, but I hadn't turned the engine at that point.

Does this look right for tension? The old belt was very tight, like I couldn't turn it any more than 45 degrees.

Tomorrow I need to fit my new genuine 307 crank pulley, along with new tensioners etc. Fill her up with coolant and see if it runs! All good fun..

Shouldn't ve able to turn belt more than 90 degrees on the longest straight run of belt buddy
So yeah looks ok. Too tight and will be noisy.

Yeah thought it was 90.for these, the previous belt was really noisy because that was very tight.

The covers and general deck clearing is a pain in the arse, but the actual belt change is very easy, makes the xud seem difficult tbh.

And yeah bicester is only about 15 miles from me I think Smile

I bought it on Ebay for 39.99. Type the part number 1201C4 into Ebay, there maybe more on there. I think they are about £70+vat from Pug.

SO...Update.

Last couple days I have fitted a Xsara VTS beam, front dampers and springs. Also fitted my new wheels along with new rubber. And gave it a quick well deserved clean, it was filthy, still is inside.

Pictures:

Its amazing how much difference the beam etc. has made, the old beam+mounts were completely shot, so its nice to drive it without feeling the like the rear is going to overtake the front in corners. I think the front does need lowering a bit more, although the funny angle of the driveway makes it look worse than it really is.

Yeah I think they suit it well, just worried they might catch the rear arches as they are ET12.

Looking mint dude, will echo what others have said about those wheels. Love how thorough your projects are.

I'd probably be up for a meet over that way, fairly easy for me to get to.

I want the front a little lower for a bit of rake, but other than that no, the rear is low enough for me, I'm not keen on slammed cars tbh.

Cheers dude, I think there was going to be a meet over this way, don't think it materialized though. Will need to sort something out!

Forgot to mention I also de-backboxed it, got an old straight through centre section and cut it up, has made quite the difference actually, much more than it did when I did the same to the DT, it drones quite a bit though..
