Belt was from ebay and was just shy of £15 posted

I've not finished removing the AC pump as I cant get at the bolts underneath with it sitting on the trolley. This is also the reason I haven't fitted the clutch.

More power than the petrol and ill be happy, over 160 and ill be really happy but the real aim is 170-180 as that would mean that the turbo has been of benefit.

I think I've only seen one HDi cabby before and that was just a standard 90 lump.

Really need to pull my finger out my arse and fit the suspension and brakes now I've got some power to really abuse them with. Oh and definitely the strut brace so it doesn't feel like the windscreen is going to crack every time I hit a bump.

Stage 2 plus turbo.
TBH I'm entirely confident that this turbo is going to fail. Its half the fun though, its only cost me £50 (and a standard turbo)

So......
Step 1. Replace engine at weekend (of course with several bodges along the line including that hash of a turbo)
step 2. Drive for a week or two
step 3. Be stuck at the side of the road with some sort of catastrophic engine/car failure
step 4. Decide its being scrapped because its too broken and your bored of it.
step 5. Repeat

You may also substitute step 3 for reversing into something stationary.

If it works it'll be epic, the GT1549 (48) should be good for about 10% more flow minimum so if it lets me keep the boost higher in the rev range and gives less restriction then I should make real good power. Obviously thats not gonna happen though.

Meh, I was serious about my new years resolution to own less cars this year and so far its not going well.

I'm not gonna lie this will be swapped for an estate at some point. Probably in the winter.

I've decided once this is running its not getting any real money spent on it so I can save up for an MK Indy R so I can go all Ed Doe and bore people about my push rod suspension and un friend people from Facebook because I cant take their banter.

Well Jonny and Poodle have both been heroes today, had a few hold ups so its not running but the to do list is pretty short

Fit HP PAS Pipe
Refit front end
make a couple of fuel lines to bridge gap to inner wing and back
refit OS hub and drive shaft
fit 302mm brake that sidde
bleed brakes
Fill up all fluids
Make exhaust
Refit front end

Basically
Engine is in and wired up, FMIC is on and plumbed in, coolant system all fitted and plumbed in, dials swapped, boost gauge fitted, got a load of diesel in it, removed the filler restrictor, got one sides 302mm brake on

£150 with the used pads and discs off a member here. One of the faster C4s.

IT RUNS!!!!!

And it boosts too!

Well the first start wasn't great, it caught, ran for a second and died.

Turns out the lift pump aint getting its main live. Anyway got a battery and a spare bit of wiring and bodged the lift pump which made it run but then one of the lines that Jonny made pissed fuel. Made a new fuel line and it starts and it runs and i can even make a little boost on idle Smile

I'm currently contemplating weather to bodge an ignition live to the lift pump or to actually find the issue. Kinda leaning towards the bodge.
