Can engine fault codes be detected with a KWP2000?
I was planning to remap a HDI I have just brought but idle is very lump giving quite a erratic vibration (RPM Seems quite stable) and I want to see if there is a injector fault code.
Sorry if this has already been covered - I did look!

no kwp2000 is for remapping it uses a different protocol than the diagnostics
you need and elm327 which is a generic code reader or a specific reader for your car like PP2000

^^^ both of mine have been fine, cabled and bluetooth so I guess its pot luck with them.
If you have the funds tho I would strongly suggest you get pp2000 instead tho.

Cheers guys, ill try the cheap one first as its only £9 on eBay. Has any one else heard of this erratic idol? Seems to be vibration related rather than rpm as the rev counter seems to be very stable.

Does sound like it could be dodgy injectors. Try doing a leak-off test, fairly sure there's a guide on here somewhere, probably written by Cully.
