surely itl be nothing apart from brakes off or brakes fully on, bet thatl take some getting used too haha

Quite the reverse. If you multiply the surface area of one end of a hydraulic circuit, you have to multiply the force applied at the other end by the same number. Hence why if you have a dt and upgrade to gti6 calipers without the master cylinder you have to push the pedal harder and it travels further....

You wouldnt have to push the pedal harder...it would be easier, just more travel...just like a lever, longer you make it easier it is, but more it moves.. smaller master cylinder just means more control, unless its to small in which case its just damn annoying, but certainly wouldnt get harder to push with more pots / bigger caliper pistons....

i dont think how i wrote the original comment makes it clear what i meant, i wasnt talking about having to push the pedal harder, more that with huge calipers and what i presume is still a gti master cylinder that the brake pedal will be more of an on/off switch

Woehahahahha Sam & Jonny you guys need to stay of the crack! LMAO

I dont know how you get by ive got 10pots!

As said before the 17Zs are made for discsize 325-345, they utilise small size pistons.
The 17Z are commonly used in the VAG scene, ECS stage 5 kit uses the same caliper, lot used on Audis and R32s.
There wont be a much difference in pedalfeel/travel with the 4 pots brembos
You also have the 18Z, Richard has my ex 18Z calipers, from the outside theyre exactly the same only theyre made for bigger discs then 345mm and have bigger pistons.
The 17Z and 18Z brembo caliper really have the WOW factor since theyre freaking huge and put almost any other caliper to shame, since the normal small 4 pots dont get the titties hard..... and because i like hard titties im slapping these babies on Wink
BIG REDS from a 911 vs 17z/18Z.... you do the math, lets put their name to the test, lol Wink

Today no work on the car, my mates not feeling well, so hopefully he gets by tomorrow and we can drop the engine and get to it!

You would have to push it harder; you've significantly increased the piston surface area without increasing the master cylinder piston size. The reason you have more pedal travel is there is more hydraulic fluid in the circuit.

Ozone that's precisely what we're both agreeing it won't be; if you have small brakes with a large master cylinder, it'll be more like an on/off switch than these with a gti master cylinder.

Well, since my mate got fked by a donkey and couldnt come and help me... i decided to do some work and fiddle with the IC piping, one boostpipe is completely ready now for welding next week, otherone is almost done.

Brakepads got in, hopefully the adapters for the calipers will be finished in a week orso, so we can fit them
[Image: DSC_6738_zps00dbbd64.jpg]

Car already had HIDs but with the awfull big starters, so i bought a new set with the small slim starters
[Image: DSC_6739_zps8582c7cb.jpg]

Hopefully we can do the engine tomorrow or monday , then bringing some stuff to get welded, and then hopefully we can start next weekend by installing the engine and fitting everything back Wink

Lol you wont....if you increase the slave cylinder size (caliper) and keep the other end the same, you will push less hard but more travel as you having to move more fluid to move the caliper piston the same ammount...the fact your moving more fluid shows your moving a bigger piston, hence its easier to push...just like bike gearing, change down a gear, move it more , but its easier...

yeah, ive had issues with mine already haha. to hopefully solve the issue ive screwed the indicator clip to the morette mask and will soon be adding a retaining spring for added security.
wouldnt want it to go flying off down the road in front of a cop again would i lmao

Well the enginecrane wasnt available today :S

So i removed the Brembos that are sold to Specter and Marvin and me decided to finish all intercoolerpiping so i can get them welded this week.

Plus we fabricated some nice alloy supportingbrackets for the intercooler and made a nice alloy support for the boostpipe.
