Well some more updates i had done these over the last week but my camera decided it wasnt going to work!

Bought a brand new check strap from pug. £25 not to bad as the ones on ebay are going for the same price. fitted it but need a new check strap pin as id forgot to order it. so the dorr still cracks a bit when opening.



also ordered a new fitting kit for the windows as the passenger side kept falling forward when putting the window up and the drivers side is eld in by 2ps. so i orded a green window clip as i was told it was the green one. turns out i need a white one but after looking the winow mech has chewed its cable in the motor so i need a new window reg :angry:


I had noticed that the passenger side light was darker and assumed it had been replaced at some point. turns out the chrome had just faded away so this happened

Keyed with 1500 grit paper it just literally rubbed off in minutes

Then painted in Ford Graphite gray i had lying around spare


Cleaned the lenses up it be stupid not to!

Gave the car a quick clean up spending 45mins rather than the usual 3 hours... And my fave picture



This was taken with the handbrake ranked up to the max and still it decided it wouldnt hold typical 306 eh?

While it was on the slope and tension on the beam took a pic of the rear as this is my idea of perfect lowered height... to which brings me onto the next thing. iv got some 40mm springs to go on eventually too now.

sounds a spot on plan

i like to keep colours to a minimum, so if your going white wheels, consider white masking the headlights and so on....
thats my opinion anywho

well iv got the badge in front of me but it was duct taped on by the previous owner. just havent had time to fix that problem. but im considering debadge. but im liking the whole phase 1 originality at the minute

Well found out what turbo i am running at the minute and it is a kkk. now the previous owner had turned the fuelling on the lucas but hadnt the turbo. my initial plan was to swop to the bosch un tampered and standard turbo then take it to a rolling road for a begging figure. But while i had the car up i decided to turn it up. It took 3 turns to to move it up to around 18psi, for some reason it didnt peak staraight away it seemed to "bed" in till it was sat around 19psi but now seems average peak boost is around 20. I had also cleaned the stupid mushroom filter today needed to nip out so ran with out a filter and it bellowed black smoke out the back right the way up to 5 gear. so it would appear the stupid filter is quite restrictive. Plan was to change it any way so im looking down the route of a much more less restrictive setup. and tune it to suit. With out the filter it peaked boost at near 22psi

Right well small update for time being. sent my LDA pin off the bosch pump to dan to get it ground to his custom proven spec. so though i may as well try and do the gov mode. bricking it is not the word while doing it incase i broke the gov arms. but to be fair took my time and managed to get it done till i lost my bloody cold idle screw! to which i just went and bought a box full of springs and fitted one that was simular to ones in pictures.



so now iv got 149 spare...

So first shim on the gov resulted in this


i wasnt happy so i inserted a washer to shim it more




putting it all back together was fun! but got there in the end once all together i tested the movement as iv read a non goved pump the throttle arm will move free all the way to maximum swing. mine didnt it put up slight resistance towards the end so its all gone back in together fine and nothing broken! Once iv got the lda pin back from dan il put the new bosch pump on over a weekend and see how it goes from there.

So far the car as it stands
Running kkk screwed 3 turns producing 20psi on average with a peak boost of 22psi
Lucas pump turned up by previous owner by un known amount

And to be fair its quite nippy now and pulls very well and feels stable

But soon it will have a Bosch pump shimmed by about 4-5mm and a ground LDA Pin then il get it on the dyno!

Well small update i ordered a cheap automotive thermometer from china a while ago and it turned up packaged in exotic posh looking a box that must have cost more than the actual product did any way it looks pretty well built to be fair. the idea is to run the prob through the bulk head and mount it some where in the boost pipes after the intercooler to read temps to which later i will add the intercooler spray kit from the 207 onto this and use the temp read out to turn the spray kit on to cool it down.

Gone for the old school 8 figure led read out to try and keep it old skool looking and matching with the interior. going to change the clock bulbs to read to match it up.

So wemt to kyles today to rob parts off his xantia engine. I got the Inlet maifold and all the boost pipes and airbox



From the start iv always wanted an oem looking fmic as i dont like being all shouty in the engine bay and besides it looks like its suppose to be there and so here are some more pics

As you can see the mondeo one is half the size but also double the thickness. ill see how it goes to start can always get a bigger cooler if need be

Well did some more tidieng up managed to get all speakers working in the car now. i also routed through the sensor on to the intercooler i was hoping to mount it into the boost piping but eith the top mount being all metall and plastic i couldnt. so iv weged it into the cooler fins for now but despite that stiil got readings of 48c! on a short blast.


Tidied up the inside now. got a blanking plate where the ash tray was as that got in the view. beside a dont smoke and it didnt have a cigarette socket in there

Well went on the rollers at The Rotherham Rolling Road meet And the car did pretty well compared to others that was there too

Car Made 120Bhp and 219lbs/ft

As you can see by the double dip the car over fuelled far to much and could have made around the 130 mark if this wasnt there! Me and mattcheese are running simular setups except he is on a bosch at the time and he made 133bhp so the lucas pump could have equalled that! However mat only pulled 188lbs/ft!

Also put a new cambelt kit and water pump alonside aux belt and a new rocker cover seal


Car is running spot on now just need to set the pump up properly and all will be good then back on the dyno!

Ha ha . . .Dyno wars . . . .bet by the time i run again i'll be a bit better in the torque stakes as well as bhp . . . . .it's a fine line tuning, you got the lbs/ft but bogged that shit down over-fuelling and killed your bhp . . . it's a fine balance ain't it . .

sure is im trying to fine tune the bosch at the moment i cant get the idle to sit right atm! its idleing just above 1k warm and thats with the hot idle wound right back if i wind max fuel back i get crap boost! agghhhh! i need help setting it up

mine idles just over 1k mate . . . . doesn't bother me . .

From what dan has been saying it may appear the replacment cold idle spring i put in may not be as good as an original. as i cant wind the fuel up. Due to the hot idle screw being wound all the way out and rpm over 1k.

As well as your hot idle being screwed out (I just removed mine btw ), is your cold idle screw wound all the way in?

The cold idle screw won't even reach it atm but I also haven't got the wax stat cable hooked up which I need to eventually do. Going to try the cold idle spring first
