Ph1 Diablo D-turbo - Being Broken Up!

Well just to keep the thread alive some how the gearbox has lost a few bolts and snapped 3 i havent a clue how but in simple terms it killed the 6month old clutch as soon as i came apparent that the gearbox wasnt being held right i was on the way to sort it and lost drive all within the space of a few miles of discovering it. i suspect that the solid engine mount has vibrated some lose then stressed the others to snap.

So removing the box was rather simple seen as though there wasnt any bolts to remove! then i thought it be easier to just lift engine out to drill the remaining bolts out one of them ended up snapping a drill bit inside it then the other the bleeding extractor tool snapped! FFS! so now got that task to sort out some how!

Now rather than fork out money i dont have on a new clutch edd and rippthrough have done a proper xud lash up on it welded the center up so now the clutch is unsprung but only time will tell to how it holds

Well engines all back together and back in managed to get it back together this time with some rather large bolts in the form of m14 and m12 standards m10.

All sorted and back in now. Losing love with the car now....in need of so many things that I really just can't be bothered.

Also fixed the main heater dials. I know have lights!

That clutch looks a radge and a half lol, pity to hear you're losing faith in it, is an interesting build.

Don't give up on her bud.!!! Them bolts on the gearbox always seem to creep out on me too but I've managed to catch them before any damage was caused

Same thing happened on mine lost 2 of them only realised when the bite was either on or off but saved it just in time. Dont give up you will soon love it again.

So the car has had 2 starter motors bodge clutch fix and a new battery so what was the latest present it gave me?

Kinda doesn't surprise me really bodging a used stock clutch like that!

So the clutch lasted 5 days? I dont know what i expected from it but it looked cool thought it would of lasted a bit longer tbh haha

The car didnt get much use to be fair and it was only to try get me round till I get a better clutch so it wasn't abused at all. The bodge itself didn't fail that was still strong it was the rest of the clutch!

The cars still alive but its feeling sorry for itself atm looking rough. i clean it then within a day its covered in mud! but thats driving down country lanes everyday!

Engine wise its not looking healthy it appears it may be pressurizing as it losing water. But id could be the bottom rad hose. But it also spat some oil out through a breather pipe other day but oil level has remained the same.

My mind isnt made up atm as to the future of the car. Im due to receive some compensation to which id like to invest it into a van. Id love to keep the car or sell it as a whole within the club but theres to many valuable parts that out weigh the cost id get as a whole. just really not sure whats happening! Daft thing is i still keep fixing little things or smartening niggly things from the day i bought it!

Me likey, mines being sorted bit by bit the shell will be bodged/repaired cheap and cheerful untill i find a tidy 3 door to re-shell

Well in nearly on the verge of breaking this cash flow is pretty tight and it's needing allot of work I appear to be replacing parts that have already been replaced! Replaced the wishbones bushes around 2 months ago and now one side is shot worse than the bushes I'd actually replaced! Front breaks are in need of new discs and pads Engine is now pissing water out from every connection but isn't over heating and its chucking its own oil out! I'm a member of team orange and black engine bay atm!

The only thing holding me back is another car!

I felt like this on my dt dude then fixed and it broke itself them broke it for bits in the end tbh I didnt even regret it as it gave me soooo much hassle everyday, I wouldnt do it to yours though as its soooo clean

i really wish it was clean because if it was id carry on with it. Every panel has some form of problem with it, its probably me being to anal but when you detail cars dents and scratches piss me off! i can get good money back with out selling the panels trouble the price id want isnt set in stone when it comes to selling. if the car was bought cheap then i could justify it.

Trouble is when i did buy the car i had 3 days to buy a car and at the time Dtubs were fetching good money and so the cheap dtub wasnt there! i really dont want to break the car or sell it but i cant keep going round in circles! i need a van or an estate. Im seriosuly considering a t5! but nothings going my way atm

Stick with it buddy, even if it's just cos it's the cheapest option. When I get my meyle HD wishbones through, I'll be selling mine cheap and they're not trashed by any stretch of the imagination, just a little tired.

I'm suprised at the following in the car!

Well the car has sealed it's fate it's chucked its box again. I was hoping to get it back on the dyno for one last run but the dyno place is busy as there shut Friday to Monday for the bsnk holidays. So I won't know what she was producing.

In other news the replacement is here
