Tell them about the change and some insurers just insure it as if it were the car the engine came from

Really? I thought some get funny about it and still insure it as the standard car but having had an engine conversion.

Depends how gay the insurance company want to be, hopefully not to gay in this case given its a standard 306 engine going in...

I'd imagine them thinking it's a down grade being a diesel so shouldn't be too bad. When I was doing quotes they laughed at me when I said it's a modified engine and said it's still a diesel so it won't matter too much how modified it will be.....amateurs.

It costs me literally exactly the same to insure, the risk goes down due to the fact its a standard engine and low power, but goes up as its a conversion, understandably... From memory it was literally about 30 quid difference...

Drove to work today - no issues, fuel gauge barely moved. Winning.

Does seem to get hot fast though, maybe it's me forgetting what boosted Diesels are like...

It's always been a joke between friends that ANY Moonstone car that goes past everyone shouts "Oh, look, it's Ruan!!!" or whenever anyone asks what car I have, they shout "Moonstone HDi" before I can even get a word in edgeways...

Other than the brakes, you wouldn't tell it apart from a Moonstone HDi...
