I had a very similar problem with my 5 gt turbo,on my first build turned out a liner had dropped slightly therefore it kept bowing head gasket and pressuring up! Not sure if the xud are wet lined or not as I've never had a head off one,I had fitted new everything including liner seals so it was very frustrating but on closer inspection it turned out to be that!.
Now I've learnt my lesson my next engine should be spot on :-)
