Hey all,
I've got a 1.9TD (306), and the GF has a 2.0HDi (90BHP 307, i.e. 306 in a shiny skin). And I had the service kit for both in the garage, went and swapped the oil and filter on mine, went back to the garage to tidy up and realized my oil filter is still in the box :blink: Cue plenty of head scratching before the penny finally dropped.
Now, I don't have any more oil, so I can't just switch them back over.
Will I be safe to run with the oil filter off the 2.0 on my 1.9TD?
It went on fine, I'm almost certain that the diameter of the two is identical and it did up fine so I think the threads are the same. The HDi one is slightly longer.
Any one know if I'll be OK?
All I can think logically is that the oil filter plays no real "moving" part, all it does is filters crap out of the oil so it shouldn't matter as long as it fitted OK and isn't leaking (which it doesn't appear to be).
