I don't know whether this is case with GTi6 covers, but I know S16 covers are a bit heavier sprung than DT covers...
Uprated friction and uprated cover would probably see you right.
If you don't want it Jenk, I'll probably take it off your hands, Birk.

Rather minor update not been doing much with the car just gathering various things ready for the mot. On the clutch side of things orded a new valeo clutch for £92 delivered just waiting on that in the mean time bought a disco fuel pump off kyle kaye which is an 11mm pump did a complete reseal of the pump stripped down to bare case. enjoyed looking at things and seeing how the dynamic advance works on it. Needing some help with that to alter it as i got baffled with what parts need altering on the piston. i found putting it all together rather easy.
Just need to fit the clutch and get the car on the rolling road to see any improvement with the fmic then fit the 11mm pump. Wanted 10mm though so the new pump will be turned down and set to near standard to keep smoke down
Also put an in line fuel filter

Same filter as mine there. I went for a CG clutch. It's still bedding in but it's really not that bad to drive with, as some people can make out. Along as you don't forget it's there like I did, dumped the clutch in first with revs which sent me flying as I had been driving my girlfriend C1 1.0L for a few days which needs redlining to move
I would be interesting to see the dyno graph after the work carried out.

Well about due an update decided to go with a brand new valeo clutch kit glad i did really you just know its good quality when you see it. Also got a Hdi box allot of people are going away from them but im glad iv put one on as its just a different car now 4th gear is just mental and so long and just pulls first and 2nd is a tad short but im not to fussed certainly seems to work well with the laggy turbo seems to have woken it up.
Then took it for a test road down a local straight road and hit a hare! A hare is much bigger than a rabbit and this is what happens
Took it to the yorks meet like this got very odd looks of people whipped bumper off to discover the hare had bent the first core of the intercooler up in to the next one still holds boost so im not fussed!
Got front and rear bumpers of Gretsch just need a tidy up and paint. in the meantime stiched the car up
Hoping to get it onto the dyno soon see any differences with the fmic then put the 11mm which i dont really want to! Due to smoke so if anyone wants to swop for a 10mm i may consider

Heyy, it is possible for 200+ out of a 9mm though as JP has proven what about changing the DVS for the terrano's just a thought im trying to find a 10mm head atm got diesel specialist on the case so will let you know if he finds a suitable one
Just had an interesting read i dont get much time to read through projects but really impressed with your figuires on this and the work and repair work youve done to bring a phase 1 back to life keep up the work and will keep an eye on this

Thanks for the comments guys!
Well update id due the mot quickly came upon cue one week of no car and using a fecking clio to get to work! reason being to swop the rear beam over! but i wasnt just going to swop it over and done i was going to do a minor over haul. The beam came off a car that was slammed on its arse as in even tyres on harriers couldnt been seen. So initially the plan was new bearings strip down complete overhaul make it as good as new. But this never happened instead so it got a minor over haul
New Shoes
New wheel cylinders
New Brake lines
New Braided flexi Hoses
New cables
On the beam side of things to do eventually will be new beam bearings although these ones on here are pretty intact and been regreased new wheel bearings possibly drums too solid mounts. But over all im happy with whats been done and i have a dam good handbrake know almost as good as a modern cars! 3 clicks and its going no where!
Pics
Custom made lines
when i initially got the car i wanted to drop the beam and overhaul underneath strip to metal and reseal but this never happened due to the Mot coming up fast.
With the back lowered this ment the front needed too so the gmax shocks and springs came out so did new drop links and ball joints just because its easier and makes things tighter up front. how ever the front isnt where id like it to sit but still going to see how it drops over the next week as the springs havent been under tension for a while. over all though the ride is firm and flat can tell somethings changed but does feel numb atm.
So Mot time to put id bluntly straight pass! although getting there was rather boring turning fuelling right down putting the pump to well past standard was boring. pretty much a straight derv! turbo peaked at 10psi and full boost at 4.5k!
Pics will come later of the lowering! Big thanks to danny for helping when he could while i had to go to work.
Modifications to date
Engine
Bosch fuel 9mm pump
Solid shim gov
Custom Lda pin
adjusted boost comp
T25 Turbo peaking 30psi
Single box exhaust system.
Oem Fmic
Transmission
Hdi gear Box
Valeo Cluctch
Suspension
283mm Front brakes
Abs Rear Beam lowered around 40mm
Gmax Front Shocks 40mm springs
Pretty happy atm with the car dyno on the 13th then more mods!

wasnt anything that came out really and if anything did id be concerned the main aim was to get rid of carbon build up

certainly not going lower down on the back car needs to be practical the archers have been butchered as it is! the wheels im in 2 minds to get rid off as they weigh a ton! and in need of a refurb to which i know will probs never happen!

Cheers guys iv been thinking Steel Wheels tbh will add to the stealth look too!
Right opinons not Really needed on the next mod as its purely for function purposes only! Couple of nights ago i had a real random urge to do a midnight run over the Snake Pass and Wood Head Roads. Fun but can be real dangerous. Now when it was initially thought of it wasnt raining so me and a fellow member headed off but it then started to rain so got slippery and the lights were piss poor as the rain just absorbed the light. so although going at a very steady pace some of the corners crept up pretty quickly. Its now got me hooked to do more of theses midnight drives as snakes pass and wood head during the day are just congested with lorries and cars!
This is Snakes pass during the day imagine it with no visibility
http://youtu.be/KMoB1kz2wY0
And Wood Head
http://youtu.be/2ciwAiiDZxA
So extra lighting is needed if im going to do this more often! so quick trip to halfords got me some new lights the plan is to mount them onto a removable bar to which i can just add these as and when i want too and means it doesnt look in your face 24-7 they have improved the wider vision better means i can see round the corner rather than having to wait for the car to get round it. But theres a shield that forces the light down which can be removed so may get me some longer light
And here is a shot at night
And a video iirc its low beam - Fogs (now driving lights) - High Beam - Driving lights
Got some twin optics on the way too main issue im having is the back is lower than the front so beam is up higher than should which wont help!

Interesting, been investigating some driving lamps myself. It sounds like there's a fair old drain on the motor when you've got the whole lot on, should probably look into power caps...

So finally managed to see if the fmic has made and difference from the last time it was RR. First run it pulled 167bhp and 239lbsft so made 6 more bhp and made 31lbsft than last time.
After few others had done there run it was time for me to go on again. Tweaked the pump more wound up the LDA setting more and slightly more fuelling. on the dyno it burned very clean up top end on boost although it spat a small poof out couple of times which concerned me and was expecting a poor graph
But managed to get 173bhp and 250 lbsft which is more like it was pretty shocked tbf with the result still more to go yet!

yup still 9mm. the last run the pump was holding on a tad so kind off reached the limitations on the pump in standard form. im not going to open it up and mess around the lower down. the 11mm will be going on. hoping it will wake the T25 up more lower down. A Tdo4 has advantage over this atm with its quicker spool time

Good work and a great result! But I can't help but see that dip just as it comes on full power is still there, it's much reduced, but still there? It's got to be your turbo actuator being sticky I rekon, it's staying closed, then suddenly opening and relieving a bit much pressure then coming back in... I.e. it's overshooting then undershooting... Next time you have the turbo, pull the actuator off and check the wastegate etc... I've tried to think what it can be in the past, but it's got to be that!

Yes I do see what you mean Ruan on the 2nd run it did smoke clean very well but did give a very faint puff of black smoke couple of times literally a small amount but enough to notice. The waste gate currently is being held closed by a threaded bar but isn't welded I haven't checked it in a while so maybe lose very slightly enough to open up slightly?
I do plan on putting the waste gate back on when the bigger pump goes on for some safe boost. Just need to find a good one or a stronger sprung one. As that was the only reason iv gone dewastegated as the actuator was screwed!
