05-08-2012, 04:02 PM

Youre gonna have to spend some money to start losing much from the front end of the rallye bud. Poly windows, grp/carbon panels, etc. Could lose the dash...
05-08-2012, 04:13 PM
I'm doing a cut down dash, loosing the glove box etc, going to do all lightened pullies and flywheel, going to strip the loom of excess wires, just looking for things that are unnessary lol, already running my washer bottle only a third full an going to relocate the battery

Smaller washer bottle, single lighter fan, alot of plastics removed, bonnet lining removed, stick on number plate etc
Ive lost the fogs and AC but thats no use to you. Ive removed some useless bits of hose and trunking and plastics Then coming up is stripping all the unused plugs off the loom and probably electric PAS.
05-08-2012, 04:32 PM
I've lost the lining, already have the Rallye single fan, may look into the weight difference. What bottle did you put on then? Was going to loose arch liners but they are too valuable too corrosion prevention. Gas lifters will be going, also trucking too, I've thought about electric abs but can't afford to do it at the moment.
Next steps to the weight loss is Smaller washer bottle Trimmed loom Cut down dash Polycarbonate windows (eventually) C/l removal Trimmed dash loom Sunvisers out Single skinned bonnet TEAM CONROD SHITTING RALLYE!

Group buy on Fiberglass bonnets? they're not that expensive, but it would be nice to save some moneys...

I might eventually be interested in a fiberglass bonnet too.
My washer bottle is a ebay kit car one. Its 1.25l and comes with a built in pump thats really powerful, i get a better spray out the small one than the pug one and the bottle itself is less than half the weight of the pug one IIRC. Only cost a tenner. I might put up my weights thread later tonight or tomorrow. Oh if your loosing the visors what colour sun strip are you going for. Im stuck between black or white. Mine will be another 10" cos i sit so low in buckets.

Foot flat in 3rd thought it would be interesting to see what is was like, and for the noise lol
Linky Dum? Does it fit straight? As I know you said you fitted it wonky lol. Sinstrip? Who needs a sun strip when I have sunglasses haha TEAM CONROD SHITTING RALLYE!

This one is very similar, and the cheapest version of it on ebay. The one I have on mine and had on the old HDi seem to not exist any more.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WINSCREEN-WASH...1045wt_932 Its not a direct fit. It needs bolting to a flat surface. Im gonna move mine to behind the ECU tray and bolt it to that. Currently mine is just sitting on the O/S inner wing where the filler for the OEM bottle should be. It also means you can remove alot of washer hose and save weight that way. If your at ace cafe on the 20th you can have a look if you want.

Sweet cheers mate.
Just serviced the bitch. She ceases to amaze me! Sump bolt barley hand tight, no washer, oil filter seized solid. Oil absolutely reeked. Fuel filter to do still. But that can wait till after tea TEAM CONROD SHITTING RALLYE!
I'm still dubious about the positioning of that washer bottle, you know... ECU + washer fluid = bad day...
Glad to see you finally serviced her mate.

Good work mate. Mine is now stripped at the back.
Me and Poodle found out you can remove the back bit of carpet without actually removing the front seats or even unplugging them. Back 2 seat bolts off the fronts, all 4 of the rear seat front mounts, lift the door seal and get the 2 screws out the rear of the center console and give it a good tug backwards. Then use a knife to cut a slit for each set of seat plugs and a slit for the handbrake. Check my thread in an hour or 2 and ill have up weights for a load of other stuff that I can see youve got to remove. Right, I've spoke to spoox about bonnets, apparently they're done at cost price, so no discounts available
But to be fair, they are cheap anyway at that price! Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.
06-08-2012, 09:32 PM
i thought that, they are not that badly priced.will be on my list of things to do.

I wonder what the lightest headlights are?
Morretes? Anyone fancy weighing a couple of different types of headlights? EDIT: They're debadged mate Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.
06-08-2012, 09:37 PM
debadged as adding a badge will make it heavy lol
