Turbo lasted until day after run but thought it was impressive

Prob would have made good/same power at lower boost and saved the turbo

Sorry, a welded WG on a GT20?! lol

Did we not learn ages ago that this is a bad idea?

Yeah, recall the lad with the zombie 306 who first tried a GT2056 iirc with a solid wastegate and promptly spat the turbo out the exhaust!

If they're kept at a sensible boost level, they'll last.. what did you expect at nearly 40 psi lol

Meh, it's your loss. Just seems kind of pointless when it'd still be running and making the same power if you'd done it properly.

Hmmm.
Was thinking that with a fmic and at say 27/28psi you wouldnt need the WMI to bring temps down at all either.

Good effort though lad! Just its not a honest figure in my book as you can only make that figure with that setup once or twice before it will crap itself

A great result, just hoping it lasts. Mine did 170 horse at a safe 20 psi. Don't really want to risk much more boost on mine as it's fast with 20 psi. Yours must be a right monster. Well done.

Hoping to add our 206DT to this list soon, got to sort a cooling fan and book in with a local company but I'm expecting (hoping for) 160+bhp from butt-dyno measurements from-:
Square-port D8A stock Xantia engine mileage unknown,
K14 @ 25psi,
Xantia FMIC,
Mix of Xantia and home fabricated hard pipes,
Open turbo elbow currently but may go to 2.25" straight pipe,
9mm Bosch gov'd and LDA ground 'til I got scared it'd snap,
206 GTi180 flywheel,
Running 100% Sunflower oil

Will report back when I actually have paperwork, even if it's embarrassing as feck!

EDIT- well I spoke too soon, K14 is dead, oversped the feck out of it (27psi-ish @ about 4700rpm with small boost leak from intake mani') and blew the turbine apart!  Soon to be replaced with a GT2052V along with better manifold sealing.  Hopefully be a better match for the kind of power we're after & if I get the VNT actuation just right should be a bit easier on the standard head bolts.
