picked up the exhaust earlier seems to be about 2.5" bore 3" exit looks to be alright not sure what make it is, all good condition though, he had a cat aswell which I have now, but was off an xsi anyone know if it will fit or not?

In a word, nope.
The xsi cat is longer than the gti one, as the manifold on the xsi is shorter than the gti manifold. Could always chop about 2 inches I think and then it should fit...

So finally got round to having a look at my cat, turns out its fine just needed a little patching up. The offending blow whole.



All welded up now, also tagged it up little surprise for next the next person that removes it.



Will refit tomorrow along with new cat back stainless, turns out the mid section that was fitted was standard, excited to see what its going to sound like

New exhaust on and not blowing any more, needs a little adjustment to get it to sit perfect but its dark and I can't be bothered

finally took this for its MOT today hadn't had time to change the brake pipes on the rear so asked garage to do it, spoke to him this evening turns out pipes are fused solid to the compensator so going to need a new one of those

bloody annoying paying out for rear brakes to work, who f*cking needs them?!

apart fom that only thing wrong is headlight aim, so all good I guess

good project thread i wonder why the garage wont cut of the old brake pipes on the compensator then use a tight fitting socket on the union heads and remove them that way thats what i do.

spoke to him earlier said he'd tried everything and its just rusted solid, family friend so I know he knows what he's doing, just annoying I want it back, and tbh if its that rusted doesn't do any harm to replace it

You should have, only the phase 3 '6 lost it as it gained EBD.
