Wrong. Xtype dervs are a peugeot engine (or Lion engine as jag call them as i can't imagine people are too impressed by buying a premium car with a cheap engine in it lol)

Err, no they aren't...
They're the Puma ZSD... I know my shit...
They use the 2.0 and 2.2 Puma ZSD - same as the Mk3 Mondeo...

Have you been handing out titles that look better on you again? :p
They definitely don't have pug diesels in, else i'd have been told off at work for spunking over them again. And they definitely are a smoky, unreliable pos lol.

Also from wikipedia.. "Ford introduced the Duratorq ZSD-422, a 2.2 L (2184 cc) turbodiesel for top-of-the-range versions of the Mondeo and Jaguar X-Type which produced 155 PS (153 hp/114 kW). This is unrelated to the PSA DW12 2.2 unit used in Peugeot and Citroën applications."

IIRC he wasn't happy with the power/cost which as i said, when i had one for a day i agreed but the derv VRS is much better and takes very well to a remap!
I was happy with the power, just not the fact that it felt much slower than it was, was stupidly thirsty and riddled with expensive electrical faults, and was just fairly boring in every way even with a 210bhp map. I enjoy driving my old DT far more!
Mine was a mk1 1.8T though.

The alfa will make you feel like a total boss every time you drive it, may cause inadvertant loss of licence however...
Saab would actually be ideal for you I reckon, genuinely.

Actually, i genuinely didn't give him that title! lol
At least i don't think i did? lol
Iirc the mk1 dials did have an issue with just randomly packing up on the octavias!

Saab is just recycled GM stuff, I'd only ever have one if it was very cheap (ie cheaper than the equivalent Vauxhall).
The Alfa I posted is a GT - a coupe. It's still FWD so it's no BMW, but it looks much nicer and has a nice shape, if a little bit of a fat ass.

Yep, happened on mine. Soldering degrades, and it's linked to the ECU so you can't just get second hand clocks, its £1100 for Skoda to fix or £500 for an independent...

The gt coupe's are beautiful, someone's ruined that one though lol.
The saab thing was serious, i think vaughan would love one, it'd suit him too. And there's not much wrong with the gm saabs, just means the parts are a lot easier/cheaper to find and you don't have the stigma of being a vauxhall owner/driver.

My old boss has a 2008 93 (so a GM era one) and it wasn't built that well inside at all really! Admittedly, he never had any issues with it i don't think but it just didn't feel that solid.

There are quite a few sub-80,000 mile Alfa Romeo GT diesels for sale for less than £4k
I was pretty shocked to be honest! Check what they're like for tax and fuel, maybe check out the Parkers website too.

On the subject of Alfas you could have a Brera with the 2.4JTDM engine (200bhp) for less than £5500 if you stretched your budget and car that is just porn.
