Sounds good to me Chris I'll be very interested if that does work as I could then run brembos year round, at the moment I don't want to get them as I'm not changing brake discs/callipers/pads every time I want to put the clones back on!

Im sure with abit of fabricating tho the 306 wishbones could be adapted to take the 406 ball joint.
Niall im no Northerner :p

From that picture it looks as though you could get some plates made up that would replace the ball joint, and instead of the ball joint, just have a hole.
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Thinking about it, if you were going to the effort of having a plate made up, couldn't it be made longer as well, to give some more camber?
Although might that cause issues with driveshaft lengths? Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Yes it would cause issues with the drive shafts unless you could use the 406 ones if they are longer.

Shafts have completely different part numbers so would assume there going to be longer. Also, the intermediate shaft looks different!

Thread lift!
I've been working on this mod for a while and here are my findings: 406 knuckles will widen the track about 7mm 406 knuckles have about one degree smaller angle between the wheel mounting surface and the strut (i.e. less camber) Even though the distance between the caliper mounting holes is the same, they are roughly 10mm further out from wheel center meaning a a 20mm larger disc is required. Hubs seem similar enough, the splines match perfectly with 306 driveshafts, I haven't done any measuring on them yet though And as noted previously the ball joint solution is different. Now all i need to test if my 807/C8 Brembo's will fit in the 16" wheels I've got, if not, i'll scrap this idea (my goal was to make a longer ball joint to correct the wishbone angle after lowering)
Tinkerer of 306gti6 trackday racer, less stuff, more hard, more umpf, more stop.
