Don't feed the trolls, lol

Did you get help doing it then or did she just come out to tell you to stop spending more money on the car?

Yeah she came out to help fix the broken mounts on the fogs - we managed to fix all of them and get them all back in place and screwed in.

She didn't really enjoy turning on this morning. The engine always starts up with the turn of the key, and no smoke out the back - this morning it took a few starter motor turns before a massive cloud of white smoke. The poor old gal!

Small update again:
Proving that 306's are better than 206's - especially shitty modified ones like a guy that works for me!

Today I set about gaying out and painting my callipers. I'm mechanically retarded so I kept them on whilst painting and just cheated and painted the bits you can see =D

Also worked out: don't get hammerite on your hands. it's really difficult to get off even with white spirit

You should have used a smaller brush and a smaller wire wheel, would have made things much easier and you wouldn't have needed the newspaper

The newspaper was pretty much for my own safety - but yeah I realised I needed a smaller brush straight away and the wire brush was a pain in the ass - still, I got it done one way or another :p Not sure I actually like the red though, starting to think I should've done it black or silver oops

Did I miss something? You've lost me :p

Got a hold of a set of diablo ph3 rub strips, but need to order some clips for them before I can fit them, also fitting black masks at the weekend so my ph3 transformation is nearly complete!

ive got loads of trim clips that i took off my old car before it was scrapped. Probably got enough if you wanted them.

did you make sure that the nipples were well greased when you did the brakes? Wink

How much do ya want and how quickly can you post?

I always ensure correct lubrication is applied before undertaking such a task.

Hopefully next week I can spray the badge black and tidy up some more of the scratches.

Picked up some goodies from Ed's broken GTi6, dropped off by Scott and Grant this morning: hello replacement wing

Parts:

Amie refitting the headlight adjusters
[Image: IMG00565-20120527-1159.jpg]

And its off!

To remove the wing I didn't need to use a drill like everyone else has said, just a flatblade screwdriver and some force got the rivets out.

Will get some pictures of the stuff fitted in a bit when I get the hockey sticks back in straight.

Good meeting you earlier mate Smile That's swift progress getting the wing on! Did it line up okay on the bottom of the sill? How is the colour match?

Yeah you too. It was alright to line up, we got it on first time but had to bring part of it back off to line the crystals in properly.. The hockey sticks won't go back in properly but I'll find a way to make them go in some how.

The sill isn't actually bent though, the wing went like.. underneath the sill and that was what bent, the only thing that was bent (other than the wing) because of the accident was 2 of the bolt holders for the wing, but I just moved them back into place, the rest of it went in okay.

I'm not sure why everyone seems to be drilling the rivets out though, they came out with just a screwdriver on the underside of the wing and a little bit of force - the hardest one I found was the one next to the bonnet near the windscreen.
