Ok issue resolved, now have the cable and lifter, next problem, can anybody shed any light on how the cable is fitted???. and does it run underneath the car???
Cant seem to see where it goes?
If its a case of it goes through the bulkhead, is there a grommet anywhere as i dont really want to start drilling holes to fit it

What the reverse cable? It goes out of the top of the box and and back through the bulkhead behind the centre console iirc.

Cheers. I think because mine is not originaly a GTI-6 there is no grommett there for it to pass through. Do you have a pic of where it goes into the bulkhead?. I was thinking of drilling a small hole at the back of the gear selector then running the cable between the heat shield and the body.

I fitted this cable in my ph1 DT for the 6 box, if you look there is a little flat on the bulkhead at an angle, this is where it goes through, I just drilled a hole, and the cable has a grommit on it, oem+!
