Turn the fuel down then, it will probably still make full boost, but no power with it. Just take it for a nice long night drive!

Results? Unless they've got a time machine those are predicted figures....
Done my own dyno run twice at college and this is how were told - pull away in 4th and floor the throttle, the dyno starts reading at 30mph (and feels like youve hit a puddle at that point) then keep on the throttle until you start losing bhp (or hit the limiter). Then let off the throttle to run down to calculate the tranny losses. Shouldn't damage the car at all, however, due to the extra 'strain' from the dyno over the normal road surface, you 'can' get overboost problems show up with 'quick' cars. Basically in normal driving youre on full throttle for only few seconds usually as thats all it takes to get to illegal speeds, on the dyno it takes 10+ seconds so the turbo gets more abuse than normal. I got an overboost fault doing my second run and put the car into limp mode, but apparently its not uncommon.

Too light rollers and you'll not get as fast turbo spool as on the road, and you'll not see the full torque. Also measured MAF is lower when doing a powerrun on the rollers compared to when it is on the road. The rollers I normally use have two 1t rollers - I normally get clutch slipping on it when doing a pull in 4th. I do not get any clutch slipping when on the road with slightly more diesel. (it slips @ 430Nm on the rollers) (01-02-2013, 05:24 PM)Toms306 Wrote: Basically in normal driving youre on full throttle for only few seconds usually as thats all it takes to get to illegal speeds, on the dyno it takes 10+ seconds so the turbo gets more abuse than normal. A powerrun should not be shorter than ~18 seconds -if it is, then the possibility of getting a duff reading is substantially higher.

I'm here and is a pain to find. Follow signs to race circuit as you go past the karting centre and see. The thruxton race circuit entrance you will see a hanger between them. Is there where it says G.A.S. Vehicle services just underneath that says west tuning
Don't worry about what I'm doing, I want you to worry about what you're doing
