Thanks is the glow plug relay under the steering wheel or under bonnet

Glow plug relay is under the bonnet. It's quite a large beasty, on the passenger side bolted to the inner wing area adjacent to the battery. Think the glow plugs stay on for 3 minutes . That roughly how long it takes before it starts farting an banging?  Does it start up really cleanly or a bit rough ?
Starts cleanly then as u say 2-3 mins then it starts
