Advice on buying a car in Turkey

Me and my brother both lived in Turkey but I decided to return to the UK to finish education, he continued and works in Istanbul.

Cars over there don't depreciate very much at all and he's looking to buy a first car out there now he's finally got some money saved up.

Here's some options that give you an idea of prices:

So generally speaking cars are expensive out there, any £500 car over here is worth £2000+ basically!

What do people think? He'll only be using the car on weekends etc, he won't be commuting in it.

Also weather is 35*c in Summer and can go as low -5*c as it snows a lot. Bearing this in mind the car needs to be able to cope with the heat, ideal for an IDI mark 1 golf right?
