So today while I was waiting for the electricians to get their act together on a job I had half a day spare to open the bonnet on the '6 for the first time since around August last year 

   

Finally getting around to replacing the knackered steering column where the joint has fallen apart. 

Really low mileage replacement sourced, thoroughly cleaned, stripped, painted and laquered. Can't wait to drive it again without the side to side wheel play
