Well, it's been a while since I've updated on this. Basically I haven't done anything in the way of preparation for show season as I've been doing adult stuff such as moving house and running my own business which has pretty much consumed all of my time and money. 

I think the gti will be taking a year out this time around while I do some major upgrades. 

Things that have changed since the last update:

I've binned off the electric power steering setup as I wasn't getting along with it particularly well and have instead opted for a ph1 pov spec xud setup with the mechanical pump in place of the aircon compressor. It weighs less than the electric motor and still opens up space at the top of the engine for the throttle bodies backing plate. Winner 

I have yet another set of wheels I'm still undecided on, I'll get them refurbished in white or silver and decide then if they'll stay 

Further weight reduction is taking place, I've got myself a rallye dashboard and heater unit, no top airbag and the tiny heater box
