Not always the case mind, The mini/ mgb the ford escort mk1 and mk2, you can get nearly everything for those.
It goes by how popular and sort after the car is, If there isn't any demand for the car, then no one will bother supplying parts.
Also another thing chris is the price of the parts too, when you do manage to get hold of what you need. The proper mini, is a great example for part prices. Prices have jumped up stupidly, for daft things.
bare that in mind, also I do strongly recommend if you can get hold of one, is a proper workshop manual, not the Haynes manual. The workshop manuals are proper mustard and are more detailed than the Haynes manual.
If you are handy with spanners, have a bit of budget, and are a massive fan of these cars. Know of any good forums and owners clubs, you will be able to tackle everything.
