I was ass-u-me-ing that the wider ones would be alright on the outside due to people using spacers a fair bit - just looked like it might get a bit close inside. I'm more used to cars where I can stick my head 'twixt tyre and bodywork
Also, I was only looking at the top of the 'price ascending' list where the budget tyres in all 3/4 sizes were about 35-40 quid - quite a steep jump once you hit 'brands' for stock size...
