Tyre sizes? - pdg - 21-05-2016 Got the 15" steels on my estate with 195 50 on the rear and 55 on the front... 55 are stock size right? Would I be likely to have any clearance issues swapping over to say 205-50/15? Car is stock height and likely to stay that way. No particular reason for wanting to, all 3 sizes are within a couple of quid of each other to buy - depends what's available when I get around to going shopping. RE: Tyre sizes? - toseland - 23-05-2016 195/55/15 are stock yes.. 205/50/15s will have no clearance issues for much cheapness fit Ford fiesta standard size 195/50/15, these you can pick up PS3's for about £45 per tyre as opposed to 60-90 on the 55 profile for an equivalent spec. RE: Tyre sizes? - pdg - 23-05-2016 Cool, cheers. I was ass-u-me-ing that the wider ones would be alright on the outside due to people using spacers a fair bit - just looked like it might get a bit close inside. I'm more used to cars where I can stick my head 'twixt tyre and bodywork Also, I was only looking at the top of the 'price ascending' list where the budget tyres in all 3/4 sizes were about 35-40 quid - quite a steep jump once you hit 'brands' for stock size... RE: Tyre sizes? - toseland - 23-05-2016 hence get the michy pilot sport 3's in 195/50/15 and have better tyre than most of the mid-top range '55s and at less cost.. I really cant talk highly of the PS3s enough, better than my correctly sized rainsport's and they lasted nearly 20000 miles (the last set) of horrific driving on my part |
