Ball Joints?

Anything with power steering has 18mm balljoints iirc. As all the ph3 cars had power steering, all will use 18mm BJ's

Not true, my Ph2 DT was 16mm and had PAS.

I've come across Ph3 GTi6s with 16mm BJs too.

grinder and a punch soon sorts out the rivets.

Yeah but gotta drop the balljoint first...

And yes, 18mm vs 16mm - only way is to look at your RPO/Build Code... I've seen HDis and GTi6s with 16mm and 18mm ball joints, so the ph3 vs ph2 thing doesn't work either from my experience.
