I somehow don't think Scott is going to ask for it to be repaired, considering he was looking at selling it! With the money he could get if it is a write off, he'd be able to get a car that isn't a grandad car, V6 or not!
I think demanding the car to be repaired all depends on what car it is and how much you like it. If it was my Corsa for example, I'd just let them write it off, take the money and get a new one. If it's a shiny 6
