A 1.8TDCi is frankly less refined and more unreliable... The engine block itself is fine, but shame they put possibly one of the wankest commonrail systems on it which randomly shit injectors - and yes, I do know a few of these ACTUALLY happening.
It's true that it is derived from the old Endura, but if we're going by that, Tom's 1.6 Focus is based upon a 106 nad engine and my Volvo is based upon a 1970s Indirect injection diesel... The RCZ-R 1.6 turbo engine is essentially based upon the engine out of a 205 Automatic if we're getting really technical Also I'll point out if you go and buy a Range Rover Evoque, they use an engine that is derived from the XUD.
